Lee Hesketh informed us that "The Okanagan Indian band is releasing
70000 chinook fry on Thursday morning at 10. The site will be just
past the confluence of Schunter Creek and the Shuswap River on Sugar
Lake Road. One more step in getting a ladder put in. "

Doesn't make much sense to me for DFO to let unsustainable
development occur at Sugar Lake while supporting the expenditure of
researching, then building a fish ladder at Wilsey Dam so the salmon
can come up the Shuswap River. I will contact DFO again but don't
hope for very much for we already know that all sorts of destructive
activities occur in large salmon rivers, which of course, is largely
the cause of salmon decline.

Huguette.
