Good day Mr. Baker,

The Sugar Lake And Middle Shuswap Stewards (SLAMSS) were pleased to  
see that Mike Reiner, who is responsible for the Kokanee Lodge  
Effluent Discharge Registration, has now requested that the developer  
and his engineers must answer all the concerns raised by Interior  
Health as well as NORD and its petitioners.

However, we are puzzled to see that this file is still active in your  
ministry when our Regional District has made it clear that the  
permits for this file were given based on information that is now  
proving false, since the original permit applications specified that  
sewage facilities for the planned expansion already existed.

This being the case, why is the province dealing with a file that the  
local government has deemed closed until further action? Would your  
Ministry not see fit support local government in their mandate to  
decide how their region is developed, by halting all processes on  
this file until the Regional District determines this file can be re- 
opened?
