Wayne Cunneyworth:

Please note a correction to my comments below: I misinterpreted the
map in the Lumby Valley Times. After consulting the web site, I see
that the properties applied for by Kokanee Lodge do not double the
present holdings and do not include any portion of land above Sugar
Lake Road. My apologies for this misunderstanding.

I still oppose the acquisition completely, nonetheless.

Hi All,

Crown land is our land! I can't believe the audacity of the developer
that he can circumvent Highways decision to not approve his applying
for an extension of his crown land holdings. Now, if he was applying
for an extension of his land holdings so that he could avoid dumping
effluent then he might garner some support. But for me, I vehemently
oppose this application. What are the regulations that allow people
to apply for crown land leases? Maybe Eugene Foisy should apply for
the land portion shown on the map as (unsurveyed land Area 2), to be
used as a community reacreation area!!! And isn't it time to put a
choke hold on the government and it's ministries by rallying the
communities to a get together at CBSS. Remember what happened with
the school trustees wanting to close CBSS, they were overwhelmed by
the numbers of people who came out to support CBSS being left alone.

The same passion needs to be aroused and allowed to ferment into a
ground swell of vocal discontent that by shear numbers tells the
politician to leave our lake alone.

Other email correspondents replied directly to me saying this looks
suspiciously like an expansion of the development and a staged
process - He got approval for the first development. He puts in his
infrastructure, larger perhaps than he needs. Then, in a few years
he can put in a new development proposal to expand into Area #1 -
more lots between the current proposed access road and the logging
road. In another few years, a future expansion again to the west and
on it goes…...
