Hi all

Many of us are trying hard to protect ecosystems that once gone, will
be gone forever. As we know well, there is strength in numbers. You
can help protect the largest sockeye salmon run in the world simply by
writing an email but it must be sent before April 21st . Feel free to
use mine as a model if it helps and look at the website at: http://www.seas.ca

Sirs,

This letter is in reference to Lee Creek/Scotch Creek Zoning Amendment
No. 825-10

I urge you to please reject the re-zoning application for a 218-unit
commercial and residential development at the former Cottonwoods
Campground that includes a 160-slip marina. Located just 400 metres
from the mouth of the Adams River, the marina threatens the world's
most perfect salmon stream as well as Shuswap Lake which is an ideal
nursery for young salmon.

To let such development occur in 2008, when we know that survival of
wild salmon is precarious at best, is incomprehensible. As elected
officials, you should be doing all you can to protect this keystone
species and ensure its survival. Losing the salmon will result in a
loss of at least 137 other species and that loss will be final. Once
gone, they'll be gone forever. In addition, this development will also
harm trout, eagles, waterfowl and nesting bird habitat.

The 218 unit development will result in a massive increase in
population during the summer. It will encourage further development in
a sensitive area that will undoubtedly harm the nearby Roderick Haig-
Brown Park.

We count on you to refuse to grant a permit that will result in such
irreparable damage and to make the transition from resource
exploitation to resource celebration. Protection and celebration are
the order of the day.
