This public talk was the first of the season for the Science in Society Speaker Series and was presented in conjunction with special sponsors the Food Action Society of the North Okanagan and the Sustainable Environment Network Society.

Gord Hiebert of Element Ecodesign showed us how the use of permaculture cares for the earth and people by mimicking natural ecosystems. Examples already available here in Vernon are at the Science Centre and the Food Forest at Okanagan College.

The video shows how the oil industry controls, deceives and damages its people and the environment.

A must see movie! It has played at numerous film festivals and won 6 major awards.

September Monthly Meeting - Wolf! +

Well over 150 people (and lots of kids) attended an hour of passionate pleas by Gary Allan on behalf of the wolf and other "keystone" species, or top predators.
