Vernon Heronry Threatened

Scotland Constructors Ltd.  had requested, as part of the Vernon Council’s May 11 meeting, that the environmental conditions/covenant be waived during construction on their development beside the heronry.  Luckily a slim majority on council voted to keep the environmental protections in place to avoid having to go to a public hearing. Thanks to all those concerned citizens who, on short notice, found out and emailed or phoned to express their concerns prior to the council meeting.
