Provincial
BC Greens MLAs table This Bill to protect bear dens from logging... for a 3rd time! Bears rely on dens in wooded areas, especially old-growth forests, to hibernate and raise their young. The ongoing destruction of these dens is detrimental to the future of B.C. bear populations. For the full story, go here! Please email MLA (Vernon-Lumby) Harwinder Sandhu to support it. Without protection, B.C. bears face a catastrophic future due to den destruction!
Protections needed for bear hibernation dens: Logging practices are limiting the natural locations for bear dens causing bears to find less conventional places to raise their cubs, as one Cowichan family learned. For the story, go here!
